This particular lapping tool manufactured by Arihant is clamped on the spindle collet. The component is held in the suitable work holding fixture and is reciprocated to and fro on the rotating lapping tools. The lapping sleeve can be expanded suiting to the component bore, the lapping paste is applied on lapping sleeve during the lapping operation. During reciprocating the component on the lapping sleeve, the operator feels the tightness of the bore and accordingly short stroke at that particular area. Once the bore is uniform the component is unloaded and checks for the sizes. The sleeve is expanded if required further to enlarge the size. The rotation of the lapping tool can be put "ON" or "OFF" by pedal switch. Roughing and finishing operation are performed by the procedure mentioned above for higher surface finish.
